DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz MXO54-2000 is the highest-bandwidth model within the MXO 5 four-channel oscilloscope family. Built around Rohde & Schwarz's next-generation oscilloscope architecture, the platform combines 2 GHz bandwidth, industry-leading waveform acquisition performance, deep acquisition memory, advanced multispectrum analysis, and precision triggering capabilities within a compact laboratory instrument.

At the heart of the MXO54-2000 is a true 12-bit analog-to-digital converter operating at full resolution across all sample rates. Compared with conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the architecture provides sixteen times greater vertical resolution, enabling engineers to observe subtle signal variations, jitter, power rail noise, switching artefacts, transient disturbances, and signal integrity issues with exceptional clarity. HD mode further extends effective vertical resolution to as much as 18 bits, while the platform achieves up to 10-bit ENOB performance.

The oscilloscope supports sampling rates up to 5 GSa/s and provides an industry-leading 500 Mpoints acquisition memory per channel as standard. Optional memory expansion increases capture depth to 1 Gpoint per channel, enabling extremely long recording times while maintaining fine timing resolution. This architecture is particularly valuable for FPGA validation, DDR memory debugging, PCIe analysis, embedded system development, communications systems testing, and transient event investigation.

A defining characteristic of the MXO 5 platform is its acquisition performance. The MXO54-2000 captures more than 4.5 million waveforms per second while simultaneously supporting spectrum acquisition rates exceeding 45,000 FFT calculations per second. This dramatically improves the probability of detecting rare glitches, intermittent faults, timing violations, protocol anomalies, and sporadic disturbances that often remain hidden on slower oscilloscope architectures.

The MXO54-2000 incorporates advanced multispectrum analysis functionality, supporting up to four simultaneous spectrum displays with independent frequency-domain and time-domain controls. Engineers can analyse EMI emissions, RF activity, harmonics, switching power supplies, clock systems, and mixed-domain interactions without requiring a dedicated spectrum analyzer. Zone triggering is available across analogue, spectrum, and mathematical measurements.

Advanced digital triggering includes edge, pulse width, runt, glitch, timeout, setup-and-hold, logic, serial bus, zone, spectrum, and math triggering. Trigger sensitivity down to 0.0001 divisions, trigger rearm times below 21 ns, and trigger jitter of approximately 1 ps provide exceptional event isolation and debugging performance for demanding engineering applications.

The large 15.6-inch Full HD capacitive touchscreen provides extensive workspace for simultaneous viewing of waveforms, decoded protocols, FFT measurements, automated measurements, and multiple spectrum displays. The platform supports optional 16-channel logic analysis, arbitrary waveform generation, protocol analysis, power analysis, frequency response analysis, automotive Ethernet analysis, and aerospace communications protocol support.
