DESCRIPTION:

The Franklin Grid CGBC-350-HWD CELLGUARD™ Wired Battery Monitoring System is a professional battery monitoring platform engineered for continuous remote monitoring and diagnostics of stationary battery systems used within mission-critical power infrastructure environments. The system is designed for deployment across UPS installations, data centres, telecom networks, utility substations, rail infrastructure, airport systems, and industrial DC backup power applications.

The wired monitoring architecture provides highly reliable communication performance in environments with elevated electromagnetic interference where dependable battery monitoring is critical for operational continuity. The system continuously measures and analyses key battery parameters including voltage, internal resistance, temperature, discharge events, and string current to provide real-time battery state-of-health visibility.

The CGBC-350-HWD Base Coordinator Unit supports monitoring of up to 6 battery strings, with up to 300 cells per string and 360 cells per module. The platform integrates with Franklin Grid’s UNITE™ Battery Asset Management Software, allowing operators to remotely monitor battery infrastructure, configure alarm thresholds, analyse historical trends, and generate maintenance reports through a web-based management environment.

The system supports communication through Ethernet, RS485, MODBUS/RTU, MODBUS/TCP, and SNMP protocols, enabling integration into third-party building management and infrastructure monitoring systems. The monitoring platform supports proactive maintenance strategies by identifying deteriorating battery conditions before failures occur, helping reduce downtime risk and extend battery service life.
