The Franklin Grid CGTC3-600-WD is a CELLGUARD™ wired battery monitoring string sensor module designed for continuous monitoring of stationary battery systems within utilities, substations, telecommunications infrastructure, UPS systems, data centres, switchgear, and critical backup power environments. The module operates as part of the Franklin Grid CELLGUARD™ Wired Battery Monitoring System and provides monitoring of battery string voltage, string current, and ambient temperature using an integrated current transducer and temperature sensing platform.
The CGTC3-600-WD supports monitoring of battery strings up to 600V maximum and is designed for use with VRLA, flooded lead-acid, and Ni-Cad stationary battery systems requiring continuous operational supervision and predictive maintenance analysis. The module measures string voltage from 20V to 800V with ±0.5% accuracy, string current from 0A to 1000A with ±2% accuracy, and ambient temperature from -5°C to 99.9°C with ±1°C accuracy. The platform supports 24/7 remote battery health analysis and alarm monitoring within electrically noisy industrial environments.
The string sensor kit includes a Temperature/Current (TC) sensor module, current transducer, 8 metre interconnect return cable with RJ22 plugs, spare RJ22 connectors, interconnect cable assemblies, and current transducer cable with integrated temperature sensor. The system integrates with CELLGUARD™ Base Coordinator Units supporting up to 6 strings maximum, 300 batteries per string, and 360 batteries per module depending on deployment configuration.
Communication interfaces supported within the CELLGUARD™ infrastructure include RS485 Modbus/RTU, Ethernet Modbus/TCP, SNMP, USB, and RJ22 UART communications for integration into remote asset management and SCADA monitoring systems. The CGTC3-600-WD is suitable for proactive battery maintenance, discharge event recording, state-of-health analysis, and critical infrastructure uptime management applications.
