The Franklin Grid CGS3-12V-WD is a CELLGUARD™ wired battery monitoring sensor module designed for continuous monitoring of 12V stationary battery systems within utilities, telecommunications infrastructure, UPS systems, switchgear, renewable energy installations, rail systems, data centres, and industrial DC backup power environments.
The CGS3-12V-WD operates as part of the Franklin Grid CELLGUARD™ Wired Battery Monitoring System and provides continuous monitoring of battery voltage, internal resistance, and battery temperature for comprehensive battery state-of-health analysis and predictive maintenance applications. One sensor module is installed per battery to provide detailed individual battery performance visibility across critical standby power infrastructures.
The wired monitoring architecture is specifically designed for environments with high electromagnetic noise where stable communication integrity and reliable long-term monitoring performance are essential. The module supports continuous 24/7 remote monitoring of stationary battery systems to assist operators with proactive maintenance planning, discharge event analysis, alarm management, and operational uptime protection.
The CGS3-12V-WD supports monitoring accuracy of ±0.1% for battery voltage measurement together with internal resistance monitoring from 50 to 65535 µ at ±2% accuracy and battery temperature monitoring from -5°C to 99.9°C with ±1°C accuracy. The module operates directly from the monitored battery with power consumption of approximately 7 mA for 12V battery systems.
The module integrates with CELLGUARD™ Base Coordinator Units and associated string sensors to provide centralized monitoring, Modbus communications, SNMP integration, Ethernet connectivity, discharge recording, threshold alarm management, and remote battery asset management functionality through the UNITE™ and CONVERGE™ monitoring platforms.
