The Franklin Grid CGS3-100-02V is a CELLGUARD™ wireless battery monitoring sensor designed for continuous monitoring of 2V stationary battery systems within utility substations, telecommunications infrastructure, UPS systems, switchgear, renewable energy systems, and data centre backup power environments. The sensor operates as part of the Franklin Grid CELLGUARD™ Wireless Battery Monitoring System and provides detailed battery state-of-health analysis through continuous monitoring of voltage, conductance, temperature, and strap resistance parameters.
The CGS3-100-02V is configured for 2V battery installations with integrated strap resistance monitoring capability for enhanced intercell connection analysis and predictive maintenance diagnostics. The monitoring platform captures battery voltage, temperature, conductance, strap resistance, and connection health information for each individual mono-block, cell, or jar while operating using Franklin Grid’s patented non-invasive conductance measurement technology. The system is compatible with VRLA, VLA, and Ni-Cd stationary battery systems from 65Ah to 6000Ah.
The wireless mesh communication architecture significantly reduces installation complexity and infrastructure cabling requirements compared to traditional wired battery monitoring systems. Each sensor connects directly to and is powered from the monitored battery while supporting hot-swappable sensor replacement, field-upgradable firmware, and distributed wireless communication throughout large-scale battery monitoring environments. The CELLGUARD™ Wireless platform supports up to 16 battery strings, up to 300 batteries per string, and up to 600 sensors per Base Coordinator Unit (BCU).
The CGS3-100-02V integrates with the CONVERGE™ remote monitoring interface for centralised alarm management, remote reporting, discharge analysis, predictive maintenance workflows, and battery asset management applications. The system provides visual battery state-of-health indication directly at the sensor level using integrated LED status indication supporting rapid identification of warning and alarm conditions within critical infrastructure environments.
