VIAVI RGS-2000NG NextGen TCAS Test Set and ADS-B Target Generator

The VIAVI RGS-2000NG is a software-defined TCAS and ADS-B avionics test platform designed for engineering, certification, manufacturing, and return-to-service testing of Mode A/C/S, ADS-B, TCAS, ADS-R, and hybrid surveillance systems across commercial and military aerospace applications.

DESCRIPTION:

The VIAVI RGS-2000NG is a software-defined RF avionics test platform developed for advanced TCAS, ADS-B, and Mode S surveillance system validation across engineering development, certification, manufacturing, integration, depot maintenance, and return-to-service environments.

Designed as the next-generation successor to the original RGS-2000 platform, the RGS-2000NG combines multi-target RF generation, surveillance protocol analysis, and antenna simulation into a modular NextGen avionics validation system supporting both commercial and military aerospace applications.

The platform supports comprehensive testing of TCAS I and TCAS II systems, ADS-B In and ADS-B Out avionics, Mode A/C/S transponders, ADS-R systems, TIS-B systems, hybrid surveillance platforms, and optional UAT 978 MHz systems.

Supported RTCA and EUROCAE surveillance standards include:

  • DO-185A / DO-185B
  • DO-260 / DO-260A / DO-260B / DO-260C
  • DO-282B / DO-282C
  • DO-181E
  • DO-300

The RGS-2000NG incorporates six independent RF transmitters and dual receivers for simultaneous surveillance target generation and signal analysis across 978 MHz, 1030 MHz, and 1090 MHz avionics environments. Integrated four-port antenna simulation supports directional antenna and diversity testing required for modern TCAS and ADS-B validation procedures.

The platform is suited for avionics engineering development, MOPS compliance testing, manufacturing production testing, depot maintenance, return-to-service validation, flight line troubleshooting, ADS-B interoperability testing, and hybrid surveillance verification.

Its software-driven modular architecture allows field-upgradable expansion for evolving surveillance standards without requiring complete hardware replacement.
