DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTM3002 configured with the RTM-B223 bandwidth upgrade extends the RTM3000 platform to 350 MHz while retaining the full capabilities of Rohde & Schwarz's "Power of Ten" oscilloscope architecture. Designed for electronics development, embedded systems engineering, communications analysis, industrial automation, power electronics, and laboratory research, the RTM3002 combines high acquisition performance with advanced analysis functionality.

A defining feature of the RTM3000 family is its custom-designed 10-bit analog-to-digital converter. Compared with conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the RTM3002 delivers four times the vertical resolution, allowing engineers to identify low-level signal details, transient disturbances, power supply ripple, switching noise, and signal integrity problems with significantly greater clarity.

The oscilloscope supports real-time sampling rates up to 5 GSa/s and provides up to 40 Mpoints acquisition memory per channel, extending to 80 Mpoints in interleaved operation. This deep memory architecture allows long-duration waveform captures while maintaining high timing resolution, making the instrument particularly effective for analysing serial buses, embedded systems, communications interfaces, switching power supplies, industrial control systems, and transient events.

Standard functionality includes FFT spectrum analysis, digital voltmeter operation, trigger counter measurements, advanced triggering modes, automatic measurements, waveform mathematics, mask testing, and search functions. These capabilities enable detailed investigation of analogue and digital systems without requiring additional bench instruments.

The RTM3002 platform can be expanded with optional protocol triggering and decoding for I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, LIN, I2S, ARINC 429, and MIL-STD-1553 communications. Optional software packages further add power analysis, frequency response analysis, spectrum analysis, arbitrary waveform generation, pattern generation, and advanced history mode acquisition.

The instrument is also upgradeable to mixed-signal operation through the RTM-B1 option, adding 16 digital logic channels for synchronous analogue and digital analysis. This flexibility allows the platform to adapt as application requirements evolve.

The large 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen provides extensive workspace for waveform analysis, protocol decoding, FFT measurements, and automated measurement results. Combined with fast acquisition rates exceeding 64,000 waveforms per second and a rapid startup time, the RTM3002 delivers an efficient workflow for demanding engineering environments.
