DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTM3002 configured with the RTM-B222 bandwidth upgrade provides 200 MHz bandwidth while retaining the full capabilities of the RTM3000 platform. Built around Rohde & Schwarz's "Power of Ten" architecture, the instrument combines a custom 10-bit analog-to-digital converter, deep acquisition memory, advanced triggering functions, and extensive analysis capabilities within a compact laboratory oscilloscope.

A defining characteristic of the RTM3000 family is its custom-designed 10-bit ADC architecture. Compared with conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes, the RTM3002 delivers four times the vertical resolution, allowing engineers to identify low-level signal details, switching ripple, power integrity issues, transient disturbances, and noise components with significantly greater clarity.

The oscilloscope supports real-time sampling rates up to 5 GSa/s and provides 40 Mpoints acquisition memory per channel, extending to 80 Mpoints in interleaved operation. This deep memory architecture enables long-duration waveform captures while maintaining high timing resolution, making the instrument particularly effective for analysing embedded processors, industrial communications, switching power supplies, serial interfaces, control systems, and transient events.

Standard functionality includes FFT spectrum analysis, digital voltmeter operation, trigger counter measurements, advanced triggering modes, automatic measurements, waveform mathematics, mask testing, and waveform search capabilities. Together, these tools provide a comprehensive analysis platform for both development and troubleshooting environments.

The RTM3002 platform can be expanded through optional protocol triggering and decoding packages supporting I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, LIN, I2S, ARINC 429, and MIL-STD-1553 communications. Additional software options provide power analysis, frequency response analysis, spectrum analysis, arbitrary waveform generation, pattern generation, and advanced history mode acquisition.

For applications requiring digital analysis, the instrument can be upgraded with the RTM-B1 mixed-signal option, adding 16 digital logic channels for synchronous time-correlated analogue and digital measurements. This flexibility allows the platform to evolve alongside changing development requirements.

The large 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen provides extensive workspace for waveform analysis, protocol decoding, FFT measurements, and automated measurement results. Combined with acquisition rates exceeding 64,000 waveforms per second and fast startup times, the RTM3002 delivers efficient operation in demanding engineering environments.
