DESCRIPTION:
The Rohde & Schwarz RTH1012 is a professional handheld oscilloscope in the RTH Scope Rider family, providing two fully isolated input channels with a standard bandwidth of 100 MHz. Built for engineers and technicians working in industrial, maintenance, commissioning, service, and field environments, the instrument combines laboratory-grade measurement performance with the ruggedness required for demanding applications.
The oscilloscope features galvanically isolated channels rated for CAT IV 600 V and CAT III 1000 V environments, allowing safe measurements on power electronics, industrial automation systems, electrical installations, motor drives, inverters, and control circuits. Independent channel isolation eliminates many of the grounding limitations associated with conventional oscilloscopes and enables safe floating measurements.
With a maximum sampling rate of up to 5 GSa/s, 10-bit ADC architecture, acquisition rates up to 50,000 waveforms per second, and memory depths up to 500 kpoints, the RTH1012 delivers the performance necessary to capture transient events, intermittent faults, switching waveforms, and high-speed digital signals. History mode and segmented memory functionality further improve fault analysis by enabling storage and review of thousands of captured waveforms.
A bright 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display combined with dedicated physical controls provides efficient operation in both laboratory and field conditions. The rugged IP51-rated enclosure is designed to withstand dust, splashing water, impacts, and demanding industrial environments while maintaining reliable operation. Battery operation exceeding four hours allows measurements to be performed where mains power is unavailable.
The RTH1012 offers significantly more than basic oscilloscope functionality. Optional upgrades provide protocol triggering and decoding, mixed-signal analysis with eight digital channels, advanced triggering modes, wireless connectivity, remote web control, harmonic analysis, data logging, and long-term signal monitoring. The two-channel RTH models also include an isolated digital multimeter with 10,000-count resolution.
