DESCRIPTION:

The Rohde & Schwarz RTB24 configured with the RTB-B242 upgrade extends the four-channel RTB24 platform to 200 MHz bandwidth, providing a powerful measurement solution for embedded development, industrial automation, power electronics, communications interfaces, manufacturing diagnostics, and advanced laboratory applications. The RTB 2 Series combines high-performance oscilloscope functionality with an intuitive operating environment and integrated multi-instrument capabilities.

At the heart of the RTB24 is a Rohde & Schwarz-designed 10-bit analog-to-digital converter that provides four times the vertical resolution of conventional 8-bit oscilloscopes. This higher resolution enables engineers to identify low-level signal details, switching ripple, noise, power integrity issues, and transient events that may be difficult to detect on lower-resolution instruments. The platform also incorporates low-noise front-end circuitry with sensitivity down to 1 mV/div across the full measurement bandwidth.

The RTB24 supports up to 2.5 GSa/s real-time sampling in interleaved mode and up to 1.25 GSa/s on all four channels simultaneously. Memory depth reaches 10 Mpoints per channel and up to 20 Mpoints in interleaved operation, allowing long-duration captures while maintaining high time resolution. Waveform acquisition rates of up to 50,000 waveforms per second improve the probability of detecting intermittent faults and rare signal anomalies.

A major strength of the RTB platform is its integrated functionality. Standard features include FFT spectrum analysis, a 25 MHz arbitrary waveform generator, pattern generator, frequency counter, digital voltmeter, history mode, segmented memory acquisition, automatic measurements, mask testing, mathematical analysis, and statistical measurement functions. These capabilities allow the instrument to serve as a comprehensive development and troubleshooting platform.

The oscilloscope is MSO-ready as standard and can be upgraded with the RTB2-B1 option to provide 16 digital channels for mixed-signal analysis. Optional protocol triggering and decoding support I2C, SPI, UART/RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN, and LIN communications, making the platform particularly suitable for embedded system development and industrial control applications.

The large 10.1-inch WXGA capacitive touchscreen provides one of the largest displays available in its class, allowing simultaneous viewing of multiple channels, decoded serial buses, FFT measurements, and analysis results. Combined with dedicated hardware controls and a fast boot time, the RTB24 is optimized for both laboratory and production environments.
