DESCRIPTION:
The Extech MO55 is a compact combination pin and pinless moisture meter that provides quick relative moisture measurements on wood and various building materials — including drywall, plaster, concrete, and mortar. You can choose between direct contact pins for traditional moisture testing or a pinless electromagnetic sensor for non-invasive scans up to approximately 25 mm (1 in) deep. The meter displays moisture content as a percentage with icons indicating low, medium, or high moisture levels, while an audible alert beeps faster as moisture increases. Additional user-friendly features include a data hold function to freeze readings, built-in battery check, measurement verification test, and auto power-off to preserve battery life. The MO55 is useful for building restoration, leak investigation, flooring checks, and general moisture diagnostics.
