The VIAVI 4100 Series DWDM OTDR Module is a tunable C-band DWDM optical test solution designed for end-to-end characterization, troubleshooting, and in-service validation of active DWDM and hybrid CWDM/DWDM fibre networks across metro, access, mobile fronthaul, and transport infrastructures.



DESCRIPTION:

The VIAVI 4100 Series DWDM OTDR Module is a high-performance tunable C-band optical test module engineered for characterization, troubleshooting, and validation of active DWDM and hybrid CWDM/DWDM fibre infrastructures across telecom, metro, access, wireless, and transport network environments.

Designed for use with compatible VIAVI platforms including the T-BERD/MTS-2000, T-BERD/MTS-4000 V2, T-BERD/MTS-5800, OneAdvisor 800, and CellAdvisor 5G, the 4100 Series DWDM OTDR enables field technicians and transport engineers to perform complete end-to-end wavelength route validation and fibre fault isolation without disrupting live network traffic.

The module incorporates a tunable C-band OTDR architecture operating across ITU-T G.694.1 wavelengths from channel C62 to C12 (1527.99 nm to 1567.95 nm), supporting 50 GHz, 100 GHz, and 200 GHz channel spacing for modern transport infrastructures.

Integrated Wavescan technology automatically identifies and validates DWDM channels and links, while SmartLink Mapper (SLM) provides icon-based graphical fibre topology interpretation for simplified field diagnostics and reduced OTDR trace interpretation errors.

Its in-service testing capability with instantaneous traffic detection allows technicians to safely troubleshoot live optical infrastructures through MUX/DEMUX and common test ports without interrupting operational services or damaging installed transceivers.
