The Franklin Grid DTM-4-VZ is a Verizon-enabled INCON® Distribution Transformer Monitor designed for real-time transformer monitoring, predictive maintenance analytics, and remote utility asset supervision across distribution transformer infrastructures.

DESCRIPTION:

The Franklin Grid DTM-4-VZ is an INCON® Distribution Transformer Monitor featuring integrated Verizon cellular communications for continuous remote monitoring of pad mount and pole mount distribution transformers within utility transmission, distribution, renewable energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure environments. The monitoring platform delivers real-time transformer operational visibility, predictive maintenance analytics, and transformer life estimation capability without requiring fixed Ethernet infrastructure deployment.

The DTM-4-VZ continuously monitors transformer loading, transformer temperature, power quality, harmonics, voltage behaviour, current flow, power factor, and transformer thermal conditions using integrated Rogowski coil current sensors and RTD temperature sensing technology. The platform performs near real-time transformer loss-of-life calculations using predictive thermal modelling algorithms to estimate transformer ageing and support condition-based maintenance strategies for utility asset management.

The system supports 3-phase Wye, Delta, and Corner-Grounded Delta transformer configurations operating from 100–480 V with meter-grade measurement capability for RMS voltage, RMS current, frequency, phase angle, power factor, voltage THD, current THD, and thermal operating conditions. Measurement accuracy includes ±0.5% RMS voltage accuracy, ±1% RMS current accuracy, ±0.1 Hz frequency accuracy, and ±3°C temperature accuracy.

The DTM-4-VZ incorporates embedded Linux-based processing together with Verizon cellular communications for remote telemetry, alarm transmission, asset management, and utility network integration. The platform supports MQTT, DNP3.0, and MODBUS communications for integration into SCADA systems, distribution management systems, and utility automation infrastructures. Configuration, alarm management, reporting, firmware updates, and operational analytics are accessible remotely through the CONVERGE™ cloud monitoring platform.

The monitoring system is housed within a NEMA 4X / IP65 environmental enclosure suitable for outdoor utility deployment across harsh environmental conditions from -40°C to +60°C. Integrated magnetic mounting hardware simplifies installation on transformer tanks without drilling or structural modification requirements. The system includes Rogowski coils, RTD temperature probes, voltage leads, and transformer mounting hardware for complete transformer monitoring deployment capability.
