The Franklin Grid DTM-4-ETH is an Ethernet-enabled INCON® Distribution Transformer Monitor designed for continuous real-time monitoring of low-voltage distribution transformers including thermal performance, transformer loading, power quality, and transformer life prediction applications.

DESCRIPTION:

The Franklin Grid DTM-4-ETH is an INCON® Distribution Transformer Monitor designed for continuous meter-grade monitoring of low-voltage pad mount and pole mount distribution transformers operating within utility transmission, distribution, industrial, and critical infrastructure environments. The Ethernet-enabled monitoring platform provides real-time transformer operational visibility, predictive maintenance analysis, power quality monitoring, and transformer life estimation capabilities for utilities and infrastructure operators managing mission-critical transformer assets.

The DTM-4-ETH continuously monitors transformer loading, thermal conditions, voltage quality, current behaviour, power factor, harmonics, and transformer operational performance using integrated Rogowski coil current sensing and RTD temperature monitoring technology. The platform calculates transformer accumulated loss-of-life in near real-time using predictive thermal algorithms and acceleration factor modelling to estimate remaining transformer operational lifetime and support condition-based maintenance planning.

The system supports monitoring of 3-phase Wye, Delta, and Corner-Grounded Delta transformer configurations operating from 100–480 V with measurement capability for RMS voltage, RMS current, line frequency, phase angle, power factor, voltage THD, current THD, and transformer temperature. Measurement accuracy includes ±0.5% RMS voltage accuracy, ±1% RMS current accuracy, ±0.1 Hz frequency accuracy, and ±3°C temperature accuracy.

The DTM-4-ETH incorporates an embedded Linux-based webserver with Ethernet communications, Wi-Fi TCP/IP local configuration capability, MQTT protocol support, and optional DNP3.0 and MODBUS communications for integration into SCADA systems, utility automation infrastructure, and asset management platforms. All alarm configuration, monitoring setup, data viewing, and alarm reset functionality can be performed remotely through the CONVERGE™ web interface.

The monitoring platform features a NEMA 4X weatherproof enclosure with IP65 environmental protection for Ethernet installations and operates across environmental ranges from -40°C to +60°C. Installation is simplified using integrated magnetic mounting with four 25 lb magnets, eliminating drilling or adhesive mounting requirements for transformer deployment. Included accessories consist of voltage leads, split-core Rogowski coils, RTD temperature sensors, and integrated magnetic mounting hardware.
