High-definition MWIR scientific thermal imaging camera series featuring a 1.3 megapixel cooled InSb detector, 1280 × 1024 resolution, radiometric temperature measurement, and multiple spectral and optical configurations for aerospace, defence, manufacturing, electronics, and advanced research applications.

DESCRIPTION:

The FLIR A8580 MWIR Series is FLIR's high-definition scientific thermal imaging platform built around a 1280 × 1024 cooled Indium Antimonide (InSb) detector. Designed for researchers, engineers, defence laboratories, aerospace organisations, and advanced manufacturing environments, the series delivers exceptional image quality, radiometric accuracy, and measurement flexibility within a compact research-grade camera platform.

With over 1.3 million temperature measurement points per image, the A8580 family provides significantly higher spatial resolution than traditional 640 × 512 scientific cameras, making it ideal for electronics analysis, battery testing, materials research, non-destructive testing, aerospace component development, propulsion studies, and industrial process investigations.

The platform incorporates FLIR's advanced InSb detector technology, delivering high sensitivity MWIR imaging with radiometric temperature measurement capability. Integrated GigE Vision and CoaXPress interfaces provide high-speed data transfer and seamless integration with FLIR Research Studio software, while a built-in four-position motorized filter wheel supports temperature measurements up to 3000°C with optional filter configurations.

All A8580 MWIR models support advanced triggering, synchronization, flexible windowing, motorized focus control, GenICam compatibility, and a wide range of manual, motorized, and microscope optics. This flexibility allows the platform to be configured for applications ranging from microscopic component inspection to long-range thermal measurement and high-temperature industrial testing.
