DESCRIPTION

The Bird 8920 Series comprises high-power, oil-cooled RF terminations designed for continuous 5000 Watt RF power dissipation with stable 50 ohm impedance. These self-contained coaxial loads use a thin-film resistive element immersed in dielectric oil and rely on natural convection cooling. The series delivers uniform, low-reflection termination from DC to 1 GHz (VSWR 1.10:1), with “D” variants optimised for UHF broadcast (470–860 MHz, VSWR 1.065:1). Rugged construction and radiator fins ensure dependable operation in transmitter testing, RF calibration, and system alignment environments.
