DESCRIPTION:
The Bird 8750 Series comprises high-power water-cooled RF terminations designed to dissipate up to 30,000 Watts continuously while maintaining low VSWR and stable 50 ohm impedance. These compact “Econoload” terminations convert RF energy into heat in a hollow resistive element and remove that heat directly through flowing potable water, producing minimal ambient heat around the load itself. The series is engineered for broadcast transmitter sites, RF test benches, and high-power system terminations where efficient water cooling and broad frequency coverage are required.
Water flow requirements vary with temperature, typically 7 gallons per minute at 5 °C to 9 gallons per minute at 60 °Cfor stable continuous operation. The 8750 Series is rated from 1 kHz to 900 MHz with a maximum VSWR of around 1.10:1.
