DESCRIPTION:
The Bird 8650B Series comprises high-power, compact 50 kW RF terminations designed to dissipate continuous RF energy with forced-air and water-assisted cooling in broadcast, transmitter test, and communication system environments. These Moduload® loads use water as the primary coolant combined with internal forced-air heat exchange to remove thermal energy efficiently, enabling continuous duty without excessive ambient heat. An integrated interlock control circuit protects both the load and transmitter by disabling RF drive if blower or coolant power is lost.
The 8650B Series is engineered for broad frequency operation from ~1 kHz up to 900 MHz with low Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) and is available in multiple voltage and configuration options for flexible installation.
