Ethernet-enabled RF diagnostic receiver for Bird’s BDS2 Non-50 Ohm V-I- measurement system.

DESCRIPTION:

The Bird Technologies 7001A900-2 BDS2 Receiver (Ethernet) is the core signal processing unit within the Bird Diagnostic System 2 (BDS2) — a high-precision RF diagnostic platform designed for non-50 ohm RF environments. This receiver ingests synchronized voltage and current data from a connected BDS2 sensor and applies parallel signal processing to extract real-time measurements of voltage, current, phase, frequency, impedance, and power across multiple fundamental, harmonic, and intermodulation frequencies.

Equipped with a Ethernet interface, the 7001A900-2 supports remote host control, monitoring, and data acquisition via SCPI-style commands and integrates seamlessly into automated test systems or factory networks. It is engineered for demanding RF-powered systems, such as semiconductor process tools and complex impedance networks, where traditional 50 power meters do not provide full signal insight.

Key Features (per Datasheet)

  • Receiver Module: 7001A900-2 — Ethernet-enabled RF measurement receiver for BDS2 system.

  • V-I- Measurement: Computes voltage, current, and phase simultaneously for true complex analysis in non-50 systems.

  • Multi-Frequency Tracking: Capable of tracking up to 3 fundamental frequencies, each with harmonics and intermodulation products — total of up to 12 simultaneous frequency components.

  • Impedance & Power Calculation: Continuously computes impedance magnitude/phase, reflection coefficient, return loss and effective power at user-selected frequencies.

  • Ethernet Interface: Standard network control and data logging — integrates with automation and process control systems.

  • Advanced Modes: Supports Spectral Search and Time Domain analysis (with optional license) for pulsed RF and transient characterization.

  • Resolution & Range: Frequency resolution to 100 Hz, coverages based on connected sensor capabilities (approximately 307 kHz to 252 MHz).

Typical Use Suitability:
Engineered for advanced RF diagnostics in non-50 RF delivery systems — including plasma etch/deposition control, chamber matching, transient event detection (arcs), and complex multi-generator environments where detailed RF characterization is critical.

Technical & Performance Highlights (from Official Datasheet)

  • Frequency Tracking: Up to 12 simultaneous components (3 fundamentals + harmonics + intermodulation).

  • Communication/Control: Ethernet interface with Graphical/Web UI and SCPI automation support.

  • Unlocked vs Locked Calibration: System can be ordered unlocked (individual calibrated components) or locked(fully calibrated as a matched system with reduced uncertainty).

  • Time Domain Mode: Optional license enables 500 ns resolution time-trace visualization.
