DESCRIPTION:

The Bird Technologies 4391A Peak & CW RF Power Analyst is a rugged, microprocessor-based RF power meter designed to provide true average (CW), peak envelope power (PEP), and pulsed RF power readings without the need for external couplers, directional devices, or conversion charts when paired with appropriate Bird plug-in elements. It is suitable for demanding RF environments such as two-way communications, avionics, telemetry, radar, and broadcast systems where a combination of CW and modulated/pulsed power measurement is required. 

Equipped with a digital LED display and intuitive push-button controls, the 4391A reads forward and reflected power in watts or dBm, and it can calculate standing wave ratio (SWR), return loss, and percent modulation, providing comprehensive insight into RF system performance. The instrument’s dual-element design allows simultaneous measurement of forward and reflected signals, facilitating real-time match/mismatch diagnostics. 

Using standard Bird Quick Change (QC) connectors and plug-in elements, the 4391A can be configured for various frequency and power ranges. Calibration and measurement accuracy are optimized when used with Bird components. This makes the meter well suited for both laboratory and field use where precision RF power analysis is essential.
