Portable broadband RF wattmeter with UHF female Quick Change connectors for forward and reflected continuous-wave (CW) power measurement in 50 Ohm coaxial systems using Bird plug-in elements.

DESCRIPTION:

The Bird Technologies 43-UHF Broadband RF Wattmeter is a portable insertion-type RF power meter designed for field and bench use. It measures forward and reflected continuous-wave (CW) power in coaxial transmission lines by sampling RF energy using interchangeable Bird plug-in elements. Its pre-installed UHF female Quick Change (QC) connectors provide broad compatibility with coaxial systems in the UHF range, simplifying integration into test setups and eliminating the need for adaptors.

Equipped with a rugged metal housing and a clear analog display, the 43-UHF supports a wide selection of Bird elements to tailor the instrument’s frequency coverage and power range to specific measurement needs. With suitable plug-in elements installed, the meter can cover frequency bands from approximately 450 kilohertz up to 2.7 gigahertz and power levels from 100 milliwatt to 10 kilowatt full scale, making it versatile for communications, broadcast, and industrial RF power diagnosis.

Typical applications include transmitter tuning and verification, antenna system matching and VSWR checks, maintenance diagnostics, and general RF system testing where robust, broadband power measurement is essential. The UHF connectors and modular element architecture provide both flexibility and durability for RF technicians and engineers.

Typical Use Suitability:
Ideal for broadband RF power monitoring and diagnostics in UHF and wideband systems, particularly where rugged field-ready operation and flexible frequency coverage are required.
