The MCT105 Cable Tracer from Megger Group Limited is a handheld cable tracing and identification tool designed for rapid localisation of cables, conductors and junctions within structured wiring systems and industrial control networks.

The instrument provides multiple tracing modes, including inductive coupling using an optional clipon lead and direct connect tone injection for robust signal propagation along target conductors. In direct mode, a selectable digital tone is applied to the conductor under test, enabling effective trace and identification through junction boxes, conduit runs, bundles and multipair cable groups. Inductive mode facilitates noncontact tracing where direct access is impractical.

Visual and audible indicators assist operators in distinguishing the presence and strength of the tracer signal, while variable output levels support adaptation to varied cable lengths and environmental conditions.
