DESCRIPTION:
The Megger DLRO100 DC Clamp (MCPD 100L) is an authorised accessory for use with Megger DLRO100XB Low Resistance Ohmmeter and compatible models in the DLRO100 series of digital lowresistance microohmmeters from Megger Group Limited. It provides a DC clampon measurement interface that facilitates DualGround™ testing, enabling low resistance measurements while both sides of the test object are grounded—especially useful on large switchgear, busbars and circuit breaker contacts.
Designed specifically for the DLRO100 platform, the MCPD 100L attaches directly to the instrument’s current input, allowing fourwire (Kelvin) connection without the need for separate test leads on every test piece. This simplifies setup when conventional lead clamps are impractical or when working with large conductors in substations or industrial environments.
When used with a DLRO100 series microohmmeter—which typically delivers up to 100 A DC test current, measures resistance from 0.1 µ to 1.999 with 0.1 µ resolution, and features a smooth DC output and high noise immunity—the DC clamp extends the flexibility of lowresistance testing workflows and enhances safety by eliminating the need to break ground connections.
In practical use, the MCPD 100L assists in testing contact resistance on breakers and switchgear, bond integrity on busbar connections, and validation of cable or connector joints where grounding is required for safety or procedural compliance. It supports repeatable measurements that help technicians and commissioning engineers assess resistance performance under consistent conditions.
